Choose the edge before choosing the white
The best trim for White Dove depends on the fixed whites and the amount of contrast you want. Compare a close boundary with a clearer outline before selecting a named white. White Dove's high reflectance makes it a light white reference, though Chantilly Lace offers a noticeably higher numerical value.
Using one color on wall and trim can simplify the palette, but different finishes may still create a visible boundary.
Put the trim sample in its real orientation
Place two trim candidates as narrow strips beside White Dove, with the fixed cabinet white still visible. Review from the doorway so the strips read as architecture rather than isolated paint. A small difference is acceptable when intentional, but three unresolved whites can make the palette harder to read.
The manufacturer's coordinating suggestions include Balboa Mist OC-27, Kendall Charcoal HC-166 and Revere Pewter HC-172. These are separate named colors to sample, not interchangeable formulas. For the material direction considered here—oak floors and cream upholstery—choose which surface each candidate would occupy before deciding that the whole set belongs in the room.
The condition for keeping White Dove
Try both intended finishes together; a shared color code does not guarantee identical-looking surfaces.
Approve both intended finishes beside White Dove. The same color on trim and wall can still show a boundary because the surfaces reflect light differently; a single flat paint chip cannot settle that finish decision. The LRV and depth guide covers that related choice. Before ordering samples, compare room-planning features in the paint color visualizer roundup.
